Principal's Message
Greetings!
The Madura College (Autonomous), Madurai, managed by Madura College Board, is one of the leading and most sought-after educational institutions offering many UG and PG programmes. Our vision is to produce well-disciplined, professionally competent, spiritually oriented, socially- committed and morally-upright students through quality education and research. The college which had a humble beginning in 1889 has grown into a great institution with 4000 plus students and 250 plus faculty members on roll as we complete 137 years of yeomen service. What comes to my mind is that ‘success comes to those who work hard and do not rest on the laurels of the past’.
The world today is changing at breakneck pace with Artificial Intelligence emerging as a disruptive technology and as educators we need to pause and reflect on this entire system of education and its role in the present era. Are our colleges well equipped to prepare our students to face the challenges that the future holds? Are our students prepared for the era of creativity and imagination? Such relevant questions are the motivating factors that enable us to go through continuous process of reflection. Hence, we, at the Madura College, work at implementing a well-balanced curriculum to ensure that the students who walked into our college will not just love the college years but truly be prepared to face the future challenges in life.
Aristotle once said that “educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all”. While imparting education to match the advancement in technology and the globalisation, we do not fail to make our students march ahead with Madura College ethos, values and principles. We endeavour constantly to instil these qualities in our students. We take pride in helping them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens of the future. We are fortunate that we have committed office bearers on MCB (Honourable President, Vice-President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and Directors) and supportive dedicated staff members on our faculty taking the institution forward continually.
At The Madura College, we all have been enjoying this journey of re-living and re-discovering the magic of learning with our students!
Dr.A.Xavier
