Introduction
SENSITIZATION
The Madura College is committed to provide a safe and congenial atmosphere to all stakeholders without any gender bias. The college has introduced "Gender Studies" in the curriculum for all undergraduate programmes to sensitize students on gender sensibilities. The institution also promotes gender equity through co-curricular activities like workshops, seminars, guest lectures, street plays, poster exhibitions, vocational training through Women's cell, NSS and NCC. The institution organizes programmes on themes like Rights of Women, Legal framework available to women, Human rights, Health and other themes of relevance in association with NGOs and legal professionals.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MECHANISM
Mentoring system is followed in the college to address issues faced by students and the mentors act as the first point of contact for students. The institution has constituted the Students Grievance Redressal Committee, Students' Council with Adequate representation from Women, Anti-Ragging cell, Internal Complaints Committee for prevention of Sexual Harassment, Discipline committee as per directions from University Grants Commission / Government of Tamilnadu.
FACILITIES
The college takes safety and security of the stakeholders as its priority. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance. Security personnel have been hired to patrol the campus. All stakeholders are issued identity cards to identify trespassing. Ladies lounge / restroom has been provided with first aid kit and sanitary napkins with incinerator facility. An internal students counselling cell with a women coordinator has been established to counsel students in need of counselling.
